Part 2

On our journey to fulfilling God’s purpose for our life, we will always face opposition. Things will just start going wrong and spiral out of control. And when it does we tend to make the mistake of trying to fight and fix it in our own ability. But fighting opposition is a spiritual fight, we cannot fight in the flesh, “for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. “ (Ephesians 6:12) Some strongholds will not let go unless we enter into fasting and praying and allowing God to completely take control of our flesh so that He can operate in us through the Spirit.

The spiritual war that we fight might be invisible, but it does not mean that is does not exist. It’s like the wind – you cannot see it, but you know that it’s there. The wind is everywhere and the spiritual realm is the same.

The enemy will disguise himself as a peacekeeper, but the word says in 2 Cor 11: 14: “And no wonder! For Satan transforms himself into the angel of light”. Many of us feel that evil spirits pose no danger to us, but God‘s word shows us differently. Don’t be fooled and deceived by the devils appearances because the word says in John 10: 10: “He comes only to steal, and to kill and to destroy, I am come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”. Daniel 10 speaks about the fight in the spirit realm; this scripture clearly shows us that the two worlds do exist.

We know that the wind can either be very gentle or cause big destruction. Once we discern his attacks, we must be like the wind of destruction that enters into the camp of the enemy and refuse to leave until the victory is won. In Jeremiah 51: 1 the Lord says: “I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer against Babylon”. When we decide to do warfare, God himself will stir up our spirits. We need to go in with anger, we cannot be gentle with the force of darkness; we need to take up our Authority and stand against it.

When we fight in the spirit, we cannot lose. With God in the fight, we will be victorious and the enemy is rendered powerless. Jeremiah 51:10 confirms this victory saying: “Babylon’s warriors have stopped fighting; they remain in their strongholds. Their strength is exhausted; they have become weaklings. Her dwellings are set on fire; the bars of her gates are broken.”

Prayer: Lord, give us the spirit of discernment and revelation to discern and be alert to the enemy’s attacks. Stir up in us the spirit of a destroyer to destroy the enemy and render him powerless, in Jesus name, amen.
